Amber color bath linen with plain pompoms<\/h2>\n

The Lamu amber bath linen with pompoms is hand-embroidered on two sides. the composition is 100% quality cotton for the towels and 1100\/m2 for the bath mat.<\/p>\n

“I imagine this style in 1997. An inspiration from the” mendil “, this traditional fabric that the women of the Rif wear on their hips to protect their clothes. It is during my first trip to the north of Morocco that I discover the textile traditions of the region. Women work in the fields with a piece of hand-woven cotton fabric tied at the hips. Traditionally striped a white background and red, blue or green stripes. The edges have pompoms which one names “chichiattes” .<\/p>\n

Seeing this work I quickly imagine terry towels. Moving to Marrakech I need bath linen. Find the raw material, then the woman who can do this job for me. The pompoms were not done in Marrakech. The craftsmanship was still compartmentalized by region. It was in Asilah that it all started with the cook of one of my friends.<\/p>\n
